Top Motorcycle Rides to Add to Your Bucket List

Around here, we are all about finding new roads worth boasting about and there are SO many roads in America that are best experienced on the back of a bike. We have ridden just about every road in the US. Not every road worth riding is well-known, as you’ll find on any of our guided motorcycle tours. There are plenty of backroads that don’t get near the credit they deserve, simply because so few people know they exist. We’ll save those gems for our guided motorcycle tours, for this blog we are focused on some of the best-known bucket list roads weekend warriors dream about.

8 All American Motorcycle Rides Worth Writing Home About

#1. The Three Sisters

Welcome to Texas Hillcountry! The Three Sisters (also known as Twisted Sisters) rolls along Ranch Roads 335, 336, and 337. These interconnected roads offer some of the best views you can find on the back of your bike. You’ll traverse through the mountains with sprawling Texas Ranches on one side and clear views of the river on the other.

#2. Tail of the Dragon

This is a fan-favorite on our tours, and for good reason. Despite the fact it only stretches 11 miles, Tail of the Dragon offers hundreds, 318 to be exact, of pulse-pounding curves. The road takes you along the border of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, covering ground in both Tennessee and North Carolina. Keep riding along State Route 28 to enjoy more twists, turns, and epic views.

#3. Blue Ridge Parkway

While you’re in the area, the legendary Blue Ridge Parkway is worth riding. This 469-mile stretch of road connects the Great Smoky Mountains National Park to the Shenandoah National Park in Virginia. Along the way there are plenty of neat spots to stop for food, fun and lodging. In other words, this road opens up to the trip of a lifetime.

#4. Pacific Coast Highway

Look out over the sparkling Pacific Ocean as you cruise down one of the most famous roads in America. One side is ocean and the opposite side is covered in massive cliffs. PCH stretches 123 miles, along the way you can ride through Big Sur and check out plenty of noteworthy sites.

#5. US Highway 101

This highway is an extension of the Pacific Coast Highway, as it stretches up into Washington. This one ride offers a whirlwind of unique ecosystems, there are vibrant tide pools and even a temperate rainforest along the route. This is a great starting point before hitting PCH and heading south along the coast of California.

#6. Pig Trail Scenic Byway

Pig Trail is easily one of the best motorcycle rides in Arkansas. It is a 19-mile stretch of road that takes you through several worthwhile destinations, including the Ozark Mountains and the quaint town of Eureka Springs.

#7. The Grand Staircase – Escalante National Monument

This road trip starts off in Panguitch, Utah where you’ll ride south on US-89 before turning onto Bryce Canyon via Rte 12. Head east on this road for 100+ miles and you’ll eventually reach Dixie National Forest in Torry, UT. Stop and soak up Red Canyon along the way. These wide-open roads are lined with thick woods, canyons, and generous views.

#8. The Snake, Highway 421 & 34

The Snake is home to nearly 500 curves spread across 3 mountains and 33 miles. You’ll pass through the Cherokee National Forest, eventually reaching spectacular views overlooking South Holston Lake. The first portion of the road, right out of Mountain City, TN, offers some of the best twists in the road, as well as scene views.
